Ausangate - Sibinacocha

Itinerary

FIRST DAY: CUSCO – TINQUI. We will get started picking you up from your hotel to go on a regular or tourism bus for five hours, passing towns as URCOS, CATCA, OCONGATE, reaching to the summit from where it is possible to have a view of Cusco city for the last time in our travel, on the other side, we will get a great view of APU AUSANGATE snow mountain. Finally, reaching TINQUI, we will hike for an hour to reach the campsite.

SECOND DAY: TINQUI – PACCHANTA. We will get started on our hiking watching the customs and the typical clothes of the inhabitants that live on an altitude of 3900 masl. Going on, we will see AUSANGATE Snow Mountain very close to us and we will see typical animals as alpaca and llama getting an impressive view of the Snow Mountains and Andean valleys, arriving at PACCHANTA, pleasant place because of its warm waters (thermal – curative). We will take our chances to take a bath.

THIRD DAY: PACCHANTA – COMERCOCHA. Today is very attractive because we will see the famous VIZCACHAS around, the same way, we will find in our travel the different groups of alpacas and llamas, reaching COMERQOCHA where will have a look at the Andean ducks, pariguanas, guallatas, eagles. Campsite

FOURTH DAY: COMERQOCHA – TICLLACOCHA. This day is very impressive, because we will hike very near the Snow Mountains showing impressive colors, the same way, we will reach CAMPA PASS summit 4795 masl. Here, we will get diverted from the original tour way AUSANGATE to start our unforgettable adventure to then go down the hill by a valley where we will see again VIZCACHAS, VICUÑAS, LLAMAS AND ANDEAN DUCKS, to then start going up the hill to HUAYRURO pass. Campsite.

FIFTH DAYS: TICCLACOCHA – HUARURO PUNKU. we can take far away to the traditional trek to AUSANGATE snow mountain, going down and up the valley where is possible to see some group to back to Tinqui and we have an excellent panorama view of the snow mountain QUEYANKATA and TRES PICOS around this area we will find the Lamas,Alpacas,Vicuñas,Andean fox,Andean goose and condor, after break time we continues to go up and get the base of the mountain HUAYRURO PASS,campsite.

SIXTH DAY: HUAYRURO PUNKU – MURMURANI. This day will be impressive because of the impressive views of the Snow Mountains, mountains and lagoons and it will be a unique chance to take photography. First, we must take a narrow path to get to HUAYRURO PUNKU 5075 masl, going up the hill; we will walk a short distance on snow reaching to PUKAPUNTA 5140 masl. We will see all the snow-mountain-chain and we will see in another valley SIBINACOCHA lagoon, from where, we will go down the hill on a snow way and a narrow path, to get to MURMURANI. Campsite

SEVENTH DAY: MURMURANI – SIBINACOCHA. Today we can appreciate the extensive Sibinacocha Lake,small lagoon and the valley with the different variety of birds,and animal,Andean goose,Andean gull,eagles,condor,lamas, alpacas and vicuñas,we find small towns like SALLMA, OQUEMARKA, important place and valley of the Andean people. Arriving campsite.

EIGHT DAY: SIBINACOCHA-FINAYA-SICUANI-CUSCO. Today our transport is waiting for us, to going to visit the small place FINAYA, “very poor and primitive town” we can appreciate the custom, tradition lifestyle of the Andean people,most of them even speak Quechua, after we return to SICUANI and CUSCO.
