Colca Canyon

The Colca Canyon: 3180 meters deep, one of the deepest in the World and home of the majestic Condor is located in the spectacular Colca Valley, a picturesque Andean valley dotted with towns founded in Colonial times and formerly inhabited by the Collaguas and the Cabanas. Today, its inhabitants still maintain ancestral traditions and continue to cultivate the pre-Inca stepped terraces.
The perfect place to admire the great Andean bird, the Condor, flying in circles above the Colca Canyon and also ideal for Adventure Sports.Arequipa, Peru's second largest City is located 1024 km (640 miles) South of Lima. It was founded in 1540 and is one of the country's most attractive cities. Full of Colonial churches and mansions, including Santa Catalina, a restored Convents established in 1579 and now open to the public after being closed for 400 years, Arequipa is known as the White City because much of it is build of ashier, the smooth white building stone quarried from volcanic lava quarries. Arequipa's mild climate and altitude (2300 meter above sea level - 7500 ft.) make it the perfect place to acclimatise before continuing the trip to Cusco or Puno.

Itinerary

Day 01 : Arequipa / San Juan of Chuccho
Early in the morning departure from Arequipa toward the Condor's Cross in the Colca Canyon, where you will be arriving right on time to watch the majestic flight of the Condors; the trek begins descending along the lateral wall of the canyon toward the small village of San Juan de Chuccho where you will arrive after 5 hours. The camp is set and you will have lunch and then dinner. Overnight at the shores of the Colca River.

Day 02 : San Juan of Chuccho
After breakfast the trek continues deep inside the Canyon appreciating the beautiful places, the variety of the flora and the immense walls of the geographical flaw, the trek moves along San Juan of Chuccho, passing the villages of Coshñihua, arriving to the Oasis, where the camp is set you will have lunch and time to relax and enjoy of the thermal water. After that dinner and night at the campsite.

Day 03 : Cabanaconde / Arequipa
At down after a warm and energetic breakfast begins the ascent from the Oasis toward the village of Cabanaconde where you will be arriving after 4 hours.Transport toward the town of Chivay and transfer to Arequipa. End of our services.
