Climbing Huascaran

The Huascarán 6768mt is the highest tropical mountain in America and peru, a fact that has attractive numerous expeditions from all parts of the world. Having the South peak more of 6768mt and the North peak with 6654mt, this mountain does not require of much technique like other mountains.

Itinerary

Day 1: Huaraz - Musho - Base Camp Huascaran
After breakfast in the hotel we will start from Huaraz at 7:00am along the Callejon de Huaylas, after travelling 1 hour we will arriving to Musho (3100m), where we will meet with our donkey drivers to transport our climbing equimpments; here we will start hiking up to the Base Camp of Huascaran, arriving around 3 or 4:00pm. Overnigth Camping at ( 3800m).

Day 2: Base Camp Huascarán - Camp 1
After moderate breakfast in the morning, start hiking to the moraine camp, sometimes rock climbing for about 3 hours, we will start climbing the glacier at (5000m)l, and after 2 hours walking in the glacier, arrive to camp 1 and overnight at (5250m), camping in the glacier.

Day 3: Camp 1 - Camp 2
Today, we will start to climb to the Camp 2, for about 4 hours, in case there are other climbers, passengers have to make queue for to pass the channel and it will take more hours for about 5 hours to get the camp 2, overnight at (5950m), camp in the glacier.

Day 4: Camp 2 - Summit Huascarán - Camp 2
We will start climbing at 3am after breakfast and coca tea hot and strong, climbers will succeed the summit (6768m) at 10am aprox, then after to stay for adequate minutes, return to the camp 2 and overnight at (5950m), camping in the glacier.

Day 5: Camp 2 - Base Camp
Early in the morning we will start go down for the same route go up to the Base Camp of Huascaran for about 6 hours aproximately, arriving to the Base Camp around 1 or 2:00pm, where we will have free afternoon, dinner and Overnight camping at (3800m).

Day 6: Base Camp - Musho - Huaraz
After the breakfast in the Base Camp we will start at 8:00am aproximately, go down to Musho, arriving around 12m, where our private transport will be waiting for us to transport to Huaraz, arriving to Huaraz around 4:00pm. transfer the Hotel
